Merry Christmas...

New recipes made this weekend:

Garlic Feta Hummus
Garlic Feta salad dressing
Greek Chicken
Chocolate Dipped Pretzels
Spinach Artichoke Dip

Great holiday weekend....walked to the creek this morning with family and let Oscar run wild. Miles was in the sled and not a fan of the snow or cold. Cinnamon rolls one morning, blueberry pancakes the next. It was a perfect snowy white Christmas with my little family. These are the moments I never want to end. Miles opened his 2 presents from Santa and a handful of presents from my family on Christmas Eve. He has gotten really good at opening presents and letting out a big "wooooow" after he gets it open...then tosses the present aside to tackle the next.

He also enjoyed his time with Auntie Kay Kay jumping off the ottoman in our living room and entertaining her with all of his new toys.

My Baby Can TALK!!!

So little baby Miles who is now a full blown TODDLER can finally speak a handful of words. He is 18 months and his vocabulary now includes in this order: dog, duck, mama, dada, Oscar, apple, bubble, car, socks, shirt, shoes, ball, and cracker. It is very exciting as we were getting just a tad nervous of his lack of recognizable words. He babbles constantly but nothing was making sense to us, until one morning right before his 18 month birthday that he started spitting them out. It is by far the most exciting milestone that he has hit.

onehundredpushups.com

I am on a long journey to be able to crank out more "boy" pushups. Back in my college days when I took yoga 3 times a week and pilates twice a week I could barely do a single pushup. It was a disgrace, something I have never been able to do. In fact I think my Mother once told me that is just must be the way my body is proportioned. Well, as of today I can now officially do 10 "boy" pushups. So I am going to try to increase that by following this program that I saw in one of my fitness magazines. I am currently on week 2 day 3. I am not striving to do the full program, but to see how far I can go. My goal is to be able to do 20 pushups. I will keep you posted.

Flowers Planted Late This Year

So it has been OVER and YEAR since I updated this blog. I think it is safe to say I was just kind of busy. Miles is now 15 months and I have no idea where the past 15 months went. Once you have kids, your life is counted in months and they fly by like pure and total craziness. It is scary to be honest. Before I know it I will be 50 and still thinking I am 22 (that is how old I think I am now anyway).

I finally got around to planting my flowers this year. I know, I know, it is already the end of July, but I figure better late than never right? I loaded Miles up in the car and took off to Wagners which is really just down the road, but the idea of pushing the stroller over there and then being stuck with no way to get my flowers back didn't sound too appealing.

So this year we have just a simple assortment of pots on the deck and then the deck box container full of some sun loving flowers (that part of the house gets sun all day long). I also decided to plant a pot full of herbs that I need but never have on hand. So we have a nice herb garden on the deck when I need fresh cilantro, rosemary, basil and lavender. The lavender is really just for smelling though.
